GWNS Charitable Trust Scholarships and Awards 2025

Graduate Women North Shore Awards Afternoon presentation May 2025

Post-graduate Scholarship awardees

Branch members supported this annual event for awardees and their families, providing a wonderful afternoon tea and warm hospitality.
The total value of awards this year was $34,500 and includes scholarships for post-graduate study at Massey University, Albany and AUT North campus, as well as first year tertiary awards for younger women.

Atua Asafo, Master of Education (Leadership), AUT – Atua is researching the experiences of Pasifika school leaders.
Maia Cavanagh, Master of Science (Nutrition and Dietetics), Massey - Maia’s topic of research is evaluating the body project in New Zealand – to enhance the understanding of an eating disorder prevention program within New Zealand.
Stephanie Cox, Master of Science (Nutrition and Dietetics), Massey – Stephanie is researching the macronutrient composition of donor human milk over postpartum periods in the first human milk bank in New Zealand.
Caitlin McKenzie, Master of Science (Nutrition and Dietetics), Massey – Caitlin is looking at stress, dietary restraint and the menstrual cycle for her research.
Isabel Pearson, Master of Arts (Psychology), Massey – Isabel’s research focusses on the two-week wait: exploring women’s use of fertility tracking apps while trying to conceive.
Naz Spencer, Master of Philosophy (Sport and Exercise), AUT – Naz is examining how participation in the “Girl on Fire” programme fosters confidence, resilience, leadership, and positive peer relationships, and how these skills transfer to academic, social, and broader life outcomes.
