March 2025 is a truly special month for Graduate Women New Zealand (GWNZ) as we celebrate a significant milestone—the adoption of our new GWNZ Constitution, which has now been officially approved by the Companies Office. This marks a new chapter for our organisation, ensuring that we are aligned with the latest governance requirements and positioned strongly for the future.
I know many of you have been spoilt for choice with the vast array of International Women’s Day (IWD) events happening across the country, organised by our branches and partner organisations. I highly encourage you to attend and engage in these celebrations, which recognise the achievements of women across all divisions—national, ethnic, linguistic, cultural, economic, and political. This month also sees a number of New Zealand women travelling to New York to take part in one of the largest global gatherings for women—the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW69) at the United Nations Headquarters. The sixty-ninth session of CSW will take place from 10 to 21 March 2025, bringing together representatives from around the world to advance gender equality, women’s rights, and empowerment. CSW is the principal global intergovernmental body dedicated to these issues, and I am honoured to be representing Graduate Women New Zealand at this event. I look forward to learning, listening, and engaging with insights from the many countries attending.
