GWNZ Newsletter: May 2025

Kia ora koutou,

It’s hard to believe we are already well into the second quarter of 2025. It’s been a busy and inspiring few months, and I am proud of all that Graduate Women New Zealand (GWNZ) and our branches and IMN have continued to achieve.

I am pleased to highlight that our 2025 national scholarship round is now open and will close on 31 May 2025. Scholarships are a cornerstone of GWNZ’s mission, empowering women through education at all stages of their academic journey. I encourage you to share these opportunities widely — helping women and girls realise their full potential remains at the heart of who we are. Information about these scholarships can be found on the respective Branch websites, which are accessible through the GWNZ website.

I am also delighted to announce that the 2025 GWNZ AGM will be kindly hosted by Graduate Women Manawatū (GWM) on 3–4 October 2025. Nominations and further details will be launched in the June 2025 newsletter. I encourage all members to consider how they might contribute to the leadership of GWNZ.

It is also with great sadness that I acknowledge the decision of Graduate Women North Shore (GWNS) to close their branch at the end of this financial year (30 June 2025), after nearly 60 years of service. We are deeply grateful for the outstanding contribution GWNS has made to GWNZ and to the wider community. I warmly encourage anyone connected with GWNS to attend their final meeting on 5 June 2025 to honour their legacy.
