GWNZ Fellowship, 2025-2026

Jane Reeves

Jane Reeves, Doctor of Clinical Psychology, Massey University

I am incredibly grateful to be a recipient of the GWNZ Fellowship.

I am currently working towards completion of my thesis for the Doctor of Clinical Psychology degree, having passed my clinical internship exam in 2024. Having completed my undergraduate, honours, and master’s studies at the University of Otago, I moved to Wellington to pursue clinical training at Massey University.

I took an early interest in social justice research during my undergraduate degree, which has developed into several research focuses which broadly speak to the intersections and consequent inequities within social determinants of health. My master’s research explored data-sharing concerns shared by members of the Dunedin Study.

My current doctoral research is focused on understanding the lived experience of Long Covid in Aotearoa New Zealand, as well as how this experience has been shaped by engagement with healthcare systems. Long Covid disproportionately affects women and those who have pre-existing health conditions. Through my studies, I hope to make a meaningful contribution to Long Covid research to better support those who experience this life-changing illness.
