Kisha September is a PhD candidate in Dance Studies at the University of Auckland, focusing on Choreography and Dance Education. Alongside her doctoral research, she works as Head of Department at a Performing Arts Tertiary school where she combines academic insight with practical experience in dance training and education to create, curate and deliver a dance programme that leads to industry and academic pathways in New Zealand.
Kisha’s diverse background spans Street Dance, Contemporary, and Latin Ballroom, and she has performed with leading companies such as Identity Dance Company, Malia Johnston’s Rushes, and Vivian Hosking-Aue’s Dice with Vou Dance Company. Her career also includes international performances across Australia and Europe, as well as being selected in 2024 for Black Grace’s Company B The Next Wave and as a performer for Coldplay.
