Adolescent Adjustment and Parental Relationships in Indian Immigrant Families in NZ

Graduate Women North Shore were delighted to welcome Independent Member, Ripi Kaur, to their February meeting and hear about her proposed research.

Ripi is in her final year at Auckland University and is currently analyzing her data with thesis in Developmental Psychology to be submitted in September.
In her proposed research, she will examine parent involvement and relationships in adolescence and the psychological adjustment of adolescents longitudinally in Indian immigrant families compared with religio-cultural groups living in New Zealand.
Ripi will also be looking at the influence of acculturation, religion, and grandparents on parent involvement.
