Graduate Women Manawatū UCOL Te Pūkenga Scholarships, 2022

This month Graduate Women Manawatū Charitable Trust awarded three scholarships to UCOL Te Pūkenga students. The award is offered annually to one or more female students enrolled at UCOL, who have excelled in terms of effort and achievement. The recipients were Laura Cannon, Talitha Mao-Adams and Brylee Noble.

Award presented to Talitha by Dr Bridget Percy, Chair, Graduate Women Manawatū Charitable Trust.

Laura is studying a Bachelor of Creative Media, majoring in Illustration and Design. A hard-working, top performer, during her time at UCOL, this student was chosen to showcase the new UCOL Workhub building with a creative chalk mural. She intends to use the funds to do her master’s study next year.

Talitha is studying a Bachelor of Information and Communications Technology. Despite being one of only a few women in her programme, this student always works hard and has proven herself time and again throughout her studies. Talitha intends to use the funds to help pay her ongoing student costs.

Brylee is currently studying a Bachelor of Applied Science (Medical Imaging Technology) degree. She has had a varied professional journey before joining UCOL and is committed to improving Māori health. Brylee will use the funds to pay her educational expenses and she hopes to go on to do postgraduate in Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
