MSc student Emily Palmer has been the recipient of both an undergraduate and postgraduate award from GWNS.
In December she attended the World Marine Mammal Conference in Barcelona which gave her the opportunity to talk about her research into the spatio- demographic trends of sperm whale (Physeter macrocephalus) stranding in New Zealand.
Her presentation looked at the demographic, and gender/age ratio of the sperm whale stranding. Emily has also finished a report looking at organic contaminants in common dolphins in New Zealand.
