For over a century, Graduate Women New Zealand (GWNZ) has remained steadfast in its commitment to empower women through education. Our organisation's rich history and purpose drive us to create opportunities that enable women to thrive academically and professionally. As proud members of Graduate Women International, we serve as consultants to the United Nations and its agencies, advocating for gender equality and women's empowerment on a global scale.

In this edition of our newsletter, we are thrilled to announce the successful conclusion of the GWNZ scholarship application period, which closed at the end of June. We are delighted to share that we received an overwhelming response in applications this year. The number of submissions reflects the strong interest and dedication of women pursuing higher education and research. We would like to express our heartfelt appreciation to all the talented individuals who applied.

Given the significant volume of applications received, it will take us several weeks to carefully review and evaluate each submission. We want to assure all applicants that we will come back to you as soon as we can. Rest assured, your applications will be given the attention they deserve.

We would also like to take this opportunity to highlight the exceptional quality of applications we have received this year. The high calibre of applicants reflects the passion and commitment of women seeking to make a difference through education. As stated in our June 2023 newsletter, we are thrilled to witness our passion truly coming to life, empowering women through education.

Graduate Women New Zealand (GWNZ) is committed to empowering and supporting women in education, investing in their academic pursuits to create a brighter future. We invite you to join us and attend our monthly branch events to connect with like-minded individuals and expand your network. Whether you become a branch member or an independent member, your presence and contribution will make a difference.

In light of recent news, our solidarity with women in education is now more crucial than ever. As universities face cuts and the Post Primary Teachers' Association seeks fair pay and conditions through arbitration, GWNZ's advocacy for women's education becomes indispensable. Together, let's stand united, empower women, and forge a more equitable future for all.
