Our planned public lectures have suffered many disruptions this year. At this stage, and are looking forward to hearing Marilyn Garson talk about her time working in Gaza and seeing her recently published book about it on 18 November. Updates will be posted here.

Marilyn Garson was an experienced aid professional who created jobs at the edge of war. In 2011, she was invited to move to the Gaza Strip. Friends warned her that nothing worked behind the Gaza blockade. Gaza overturned her view of conflict, aid, Palestine, and justice. As a Jew, the experience in Gaza drove her to reflect deeply on her own beliefs. Her book Still Lives – a memoir of Gaza tells the story of those four years, two wars, and one very unlikely social enterprise.

We will begin with light refreshments at 5:30pm. We will enjoy Marilyn Garson’s talk from 5:45pm.
