Jean has been a member of Graduate Women New Zealand since the early 1980s; holding the positions of President of the Graduate Women Manawatu Branch Committee and Chair of the Graduate Women Manawatu Charitable Trust. While a member of the Branch Committee, Jean was the branch representative for National Council of Women.
Jean’s profile represents a life long commitment to education, women and service. Jean recalls attending at least 21 International Conferences for the various organisations with which she worked and the most amazing factor was the number of graduate women she met from so many different parts of the world, not only a truly enjoyable experience of the moment but one that continues on to this day.
