At the Friday night public event, the theme of ‘Looking back – Looking Forward’ was addressed by keynote speakers Tracey McIntosh, Professor of Indigenous Studies and Co-Head of the School of Maori and Pacific Studies, University of Auckland and Captain Lisa Hunn, Assistant Chief of Navy (Strategy & Engagement).

Tracey, a sociology and criminology academic, spoke about her work with Women in Prisons.
Lisa, the first woman to command a RNZN Frigate, reflected on her 30-year Naval career.

This was followed on Saturday with breakfast beside Lake Pupuke, a day of stimulating workshops and a delightful dinner by Takapuna Beach.
