Sze Looi Chin

Sze Looi has a Bachelor of Science with a double major in Mathematics and Chemistry from the University of Auckland (UoA), a PGDipSci (Merit) and a Master of Science with First Class Honours in Mathematics Education.

Sze Looi completed one year of teaching at a secondary school and then accepted a scholarship to study a PhD in Mathematics Education at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore. She aspires to become a Professor of Mathematics Education in NZ to teach and conduct research at a tertiary institution and eventually gain a position in policy and curriculum writing. Sze Looi believes her  proposed research could provide significant contributions to how we can better train teachers and support our students in NZ. The findings could shed light on how to increase students’ potential to succeed in Mathematics.
